I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt
of your Circular Despatch of the 19th. of January covering a Proclamation by His Majesty the King dated the 7th. of January, 1915, relating to Trading with the enemy and enquiring whether it is proposed to adopt the provisions of the Proclamation in this
Colony.

In reply I have to refer you to my Confidentiali Despatch of the 10th. of February and further to enquire whether

the enclosed extract from the "Standard" newspaper of the 4th. of

February is correct exposition of the interpretation put upon the
Proclamation by the Imperial Treasury. If it is there does not
appear to be any need for the Proclamation in this Colony.
